In our story today, our protagonist's father had much more than a plus one in mind. After asking him to hand deliver invitations to particular relatives, he went rogue and invited several distant family members to his daughter's wedding without her permission. His reasoning was that some of these people would feel hurt if they didn't get invited, but now they're probably going to feel much worse when they get uninvited.
