It seems like everywhere on the news, we are being informed of how bad the heatwave in Europe is. People in France, Germany, the UK, and many more European countries are struggling with some of the hottest days ever in their respective countries, especially since they don't have any AC systems. They go swimming in the Thames and Seine rivers and buy every fan they can get their hands on just to find the smallest sense of relief.
Those who live in much warmer places feel like the Europeans are being a bit dramatic, while those who currently struggle with an extremely cold summer are wishing to borrow some of Europe's heat, which are both valid and quite silly reactions to what is happening in the world.
Personally, I am grateful to live in a place that can handle the heat, as I am currently writing this while the AC is calmly chilling the office and ensuring everyone here at Cheezburger is completely comfortable. It's a small thing I will try not to take for granted next winter, when the office again starts to fight over the office's (too cold) temperature.
Another living being that I know is grateful for the existence of AC is my dog. While he loves summer, my dog is probably not a fan of heatwaves, as he has to walk around in a full coat of fur whenever we go outside. Even though he would make the most of a walk in the park no matter the weather, he loves to return home and sit right beneath the AC. He can sit there for hours, chilling and enjoying the cold, and I am right there next to him.
