There comes a point in friendship where the term 'Best Friend' is not enough. It is not only not enough, but also a disgrace to the several years of spiritual bond you and your bestie have created. For that reason, it is only correct to refer to them as your twin flame or your soulmate because they are!
Friendship is a beautiful thing we get to experience, but only a few get to experience a life-transforming bond that seems impossible to break. We, people, are like puzzles; our pieces don't belong to anyone. For us to fit, we must find the perfect match. Someone who understands our shape, our complexity, and our character. Finding that match can be hard. But when you do, boy, does it feel good! It feels life-altering, actually. Finding a friend who provides companionship most selflessly is very healing. To get to that point in life, usually you have to go through a lot of complex friendships. First, you go through the mean kids in primary school, then you may find some good friends, but later in high school, you realize you never really felt comfortable with them. That's okay! Let's be real, teenagers are so mean. But all the hardships you went through will be worth it when you find your person.
A friend whom you can call at whatever time you need to, a friend who will realize you are not okay in a room full of people who don't notice, a friend who will understand your sense of humor down to perfection. There is no better feeling than coming home from a group hangout and being able to text your friend, 'Hey, do you think Melissa was weird today, or is it just me?' Maybe Melissa was weird that day, or maybe you were just more sensitive towards other people's energies, good thing? You have your brutally honest, down-to-earth friend to tell you whether it's you or the vibe that was, in fact, off.
Another beautiful thing about having an honest best friend is knowing that they won't sugarcoat you with what you want to hear; they will hold your hand and tell you what you need to hear. Because sometimes we all need a friend who gives us a reality check and puts us back on track. Listen, as much as I love my delusions, if my bestie agreed to every single thing that I said, we would both be in jail by now. So a little bit of reality is necessary at times.
Enjoy these delusional best friend memes, and send them to your friend who always has your back.
