We all love summer, right? Going to the beach, getting ice cream, and having pool parties. It's all fun and games until you get to work, or get out of the pool, or leave the safety of the air conditioner to go run some errands. Yeah, that's when it starts getting tricky. You sweat, you get sunburnt, and your energy starts going down along with your sugar levels. Oh, how we wish to be children again and have no responsibilities so we can go swimming with our buddies.
Let's face it, we millennials are not children anymore, even if sometimes we still feel like we are. This heat isn't having us summer-loving very fast. These temperatures remind us of all the chores we have to get done under the sun, with tons of sunscreen, a big enough hat, and our arms covered. The street feels like a desert, and the only oasis we have for miles is the long-lost memory of summer break 2006. Why does it always feel like a hundred degrees every single day of summer these days? You would think that something as natural as getting older has nothing to do with the way you process temperature. And, in reality, it doesn't. No, it has a lot more to do with what society expects from you when you're an adult. You can't complain about the weather being too hot or use it as an excuse. You have to get up in the morning and get to work, to your doctors' appointments, to do your grocery shopping, or to talk to people and be a fully functioning human being. All while the temperature is leaving you more dehydrated than a tumbleweed.
So, this is for us. We might be getting closer and closer to becoming a cactus in the Sahara Desert, but taking a look at a few memes can make our day a bit better. Especially if they help us cool down.
