Rescuer saves abandoned soaking wet "puppy" from the road, but as it grows, he realizes it's not a puppy at all, rescuer says: 'No wonder he was eating so much!'

This man is living our literal dream.

When it comes to animal rescues, we're always the bridesmaid and never the bride. We spend our days searching for the most wholesome and inspiring rescue stories, and yet, we've never had the chance to actually save one ourselves. Well, unless you count finding our childhood cat behind a movie theater. But nothing like finding an abandoned, newborn creature all alone in the rain. But, thanks to @hellmy675's Tiktok video, we can live vicariously through his firsthand experience with rescuing a very small and lonely "puppy".

At least, the thought it was a puppy. It was certainly tiny, alone, and in desperate need of help. He took it inside, wrapped it up in a blanket, and cared for it like it was his own pet. But, as the tiny "puppy" grew, it started to look less like a puppy and more like… a bear!

He says that he continued to raise the bear cub as his own pet, which is something we would strongly advise against. Believe us, it's our dream to have a pet bear (imagine the snuggles). But bears are wild animals, and wild animals are meant to live outside. The correct thing for him to do would have been to give the bear cub to a wildlife rehabilitation center so it could live with other bears and eventually be taught the correct skills to be released back into the wild. As cute as they may be, you don't want to be on the wrong side of an angry bear.

Who knows if he filmed this whole thing only for views on the internet, or if it was a genuine rescue. We'd like to believe that it was the second option, but you can never really be sure. If he had really cared about the bear (and his own safety), he would have done what's best for the bear and not for his own happiness (as hard as that may be).
