“So that's how it feels to go viral overnight! Apparently, all it takes is discovering a Star Wars mural on your wall. Who would have known? I'm Megan, or soon to be known as Auntie Megan. 11 million of you have seen this video, 1.5 million likes, so many comments!… You guys wrote some very funny, very, very funny comments. Favorite is, ” Why does Darth Maul have big bazongas?" I don't know, I don't want to know. But I kinda love it. It's kinda my favorite part of the mural. I think the mural is absolutely fantastic. I am obsessed with it!
A couple of burning questions that were within the comment section: No, we did not paint the mural and then wallpaper over it and take it back off. Be so for real, people. Two: The man with the tattoo is not the dad, he's the uncle. He's my husband, Uncle Martin-to-be… The dog star of the show is not called Chewy, but he's called Sunny. We love him...
Obviously, the No. 1 question that every single one of you ask is: Are we gonna keep the mural?"

It turns out the entire family are all Star Wars fans, so in reality, they wanted to keep the mural. They were even more convinced to keep it after the video went viral. Over a million comments flooded the video telling the family that they had to keep that priceless piece of art, and they fully intended to! Especially after the official Star Wars TikTok account commented on the video, begging them to keep it.
Unfortunately, there were several layers of wallpaper above and behind the mural, and mold was growing everywhere. They had to completely remove all of the walls in the room for the new baby's sake.

I'm so sorry to say that we have uncovered mold within the room. It is going to be the baby's nursery, so we had to strip back all the walls. And a few of you did actually notice in the comments that the mural was done on top of wallpaper. It's [actually] done on top of two layers of wallpaper, so we had to be safe. There's only two rooms, so we had to take it back and remove the mural.
I'm so sorry. We wanted to keep it, but we had no choice because it was rotten beneath the floor, things like that. It's just not a great picture. Baby's due next month, so we've really got the work cut out for us to make sure everything is in top shape for the baby…

“I'm already part of the Creator Rewards program, but I've never once monetized off of a video. This is the very first one. So I feel like it's only right that I use that money to help my brother and sister create their own dream nursery. Since there's been so many obstacles that we weren't expecting to face with the current one, it's not been ideal. Baby's due next month, so we'll do all we can to help them. So thank you for all your likes and comments. You're all probably disappointed with the outcome. We are disappointed with the outcome, but there's nothing that we can do. Safety is Paramount. Thank you so much for watching. It was funny. I had a good weekend!”

Though their dreams of inheriting a DIY Star Wars mural for the new baby were shattered, they are still happy with the excitement they felt as they slowly started to reveal that mural. They all claim it was a super fun time, no matter the outcome. The video is doing so well that they are making some money off of it through TikTok's creator fund. So, the auntie and uncle decided to use that money to help fund the remodeling of their incoming niece/nephew's bedroom.
No matter what, the Force is with them in this journey, and the family is happier than ever and more than ready to welcome this new baby into their lives as a little Padawan.
