Is it okay for a mother and a daughter to wear the same dress?

Fashion is important, especially at a wedding. The dress is sort of the focal point of the evening, whether you like it or not. And in this story from the AITAH subreddit, a mom got the same dress as her daughter, which the daughter did not appreciate. The dress is what everyone is there to see, even more than to celebrate your journey as a couple or the joining of families.
