My partner and I are on a lovely 3-day guided bus tour while traveling abroad and it's been amazing checking out the scenery, but in our group of 30, there's one small group that keeps grinding my gears.

On day one we were supposed to leave sharply at 8:30 am, as check in closes at 8:15. These people called the tour guide to say they'll be just a minute late if we could wait up for them. We do, and at 8:45, they come running up.

So we're already behind schedule, but whatever. But then we start taking stops at scenic overlooks and little villages, the tour guide will say to come back in exactly 20 minutes so we can stay on schedule. And this one group is late to the bus AGAIN. This happens at. Every. Excursion.

The rest of our group will be back on the bus, ready to leave, and we will watch this one group MEANDER back in the distance when we're already minutes past the time we were told. And we fall further and further behind schedule.

I don't understand the lack of wherewithal to just ignore the time the tour guide says! They must know by now that we're not going to leave without them, so there's no rush, clearly. But shouldn't one have a healthy dose of fear of getting left behind in a remote part of an unfamiliar country????

The tour guide also admitted we couldn't get to some extra stuff he had planned because our schedule changed so much, and the rest of the group was super disappointed. I can understand lateness sometimes, but this was crazyyyyy to me.

Like this person said: why isn't that bus slamming the doors and taking off on time, with or without the couple?

International-Fee255 There's no consequences for their lateness. The bus tour should have left the first time without them. They couldn't care less if they are late and delaying everyone else because nothing negative happens to them

Feisty_Count_4409 My uncle was a tour bus driver, being late cost you $50 every time. After the second stop theyd show up on time.

Don't be those late tourists who are sprinting full speed toward the cruise ship!

Retiredfiredawg64 I remember our first carnival cruise, and at our dinner table the captain makes an announcement that after the excursions tomorrow the ship leaves promptly at 5pm and don't be late. A couple at our table says they never leave anyone ..... fast forward guess who wasn't on the ship the next night....

There must be a clause somewhere that states that these 2 can get left behind!

_baegopah_XD They should've just left in the morning without them. Then day two they might be on time. Then they would've been at their hotel room and had a chance to figure out something else to do that day as opposed to being left on the road somewhere.
