Employees work hard so that they can afford to do the things they like. Oftentimes, that looks more like a prison sentence than a bona fide career, but alas, as humble employees beholden to the workforce, the people must persist, dreaming of retirement.
Most exhausted workers wouldn't think twice, accepting retirement in an instant if it meant never returning to their workplace. And yet there's still a lingering feeling of purpose associated with every working man's job, providing an identity, work ethic, and the spirit of camaraderie with every shift.... PSYCHE. Who are we kidding? Hard-working employees in the workforce want to retire! They've been dreaming of idyllic island vacations since their first shift at 15-years-old; of course, they're ready to retire in an instant.
If a trillionbazillion dollars landed in my bank account tomorrow, I do think I'd give my boss the courtesy of a 1-month notice and would offer to train my replacement, but many employees would likely walk out, rage quit, and let their employer see what life is like without their all-star worker. Not everyone has a terrific relationship with their work, but everyone enjoys a healthy relationship with the money it provides.
Sure, every employee dreams of that winning lottery number hitting their notifications icon just before a dreaded 10-hour shift, but if that money isn't coming in, perhaps a few memes can soften the blow of dreaded adult responsibilities. Alas, without memes, what would we look at on our break? What would we chuckle at in the bathroom? And how would we communicate with our favorite coworker throughout the day? Could any department even make jokes about the company-wide meetings in our side chat on Slack?
Exactly... Without memes, the workplace would be a much darker place. So let a light shine on your Excel sheets, open up your emails, and get back on your manager's good side with a hefty collection of workplace vibes that make you wish you only had 60 seconds until clock-out.
