    New tenants squeeze a massive truck into a shared garage, forcing neighbors to maneuver around it even after repeated HOA warnings: 'How do people think it’s okay to park like this?'

    Parking spaces in a shared garage are designed so that every neighbor has their spot and can access it safely and without complications. But that only works when someone isn't squeezing a giant truck into the garage, parking it so badly that everyone has to maneuver around it to get in and out.

    Shared garages only fulfill their purpose when each resident understands that their convenience cannot come at the expense of everyone else's. If you own a large truck, you must make sure to park it in a way that doesn't obstruct anyone else's parking spot and their access to it.

      Tenants keep parking oversized loud car in parking garage

      New tenants have a 1990s Ford 350 that they were parking in our garage months ago. Their car is too big for our garage and they were parking with their car hanging into the driving area

      about it and they continued to park inconsiderate until HOA got involved and sent out emails notifying us that oversized cars could not be parked in the garage and no obstruction of vehicles in the garage. Not to mention we all had to maneuver around this car which was annoying.

    • Plenty of people own large cars, so the issue isn't about the size of the truck itself. The actual problem is that the owners continue parking it so carelessly that it interferes with other tenants' ability to enter and exit their own parking spaces. That alone is frustrating enough, but it's also surprising that the owners are so careless that they don't even seem concerned about the risk of their truck being hit by another car, as neighbors have to maneuver around it. At least that reason should be enough to motivate them to park properly. Well, apparently, it is not.

      the way into their parking spot and have like 8 ft of space available to pull all the way in.

    • And it turns out they even have room to pull forward properly, so they simply don't seem willing to make the slightest effort to avoid inconveniencing everyone else. The solution is actually very simple: either park the truck correctly, find another place to keep it, or use another car that fits the space and fits your willingness to park it properly.

    • This isn't a misunderstanding. The neighbors addressed the issue directly; one tenant even spoke to them face-to-face, and they reported it to the HOA. Still, the truck owners continue parking improperly and show no willingness to cooperate. They know their behavior is affecting others, but they just don't care.

      Another issue is their car is so loud and they come home from work at 1 am and 3 am. I have been woken up at these times 5 times in the past 10 days.

    • And if the parking problem wasn't enough, the truck is also so loud that it wakes residents in the middle of the night. That makes the whole situation even more disruptive, as it affects other residents' quality of life. At this point, the problem goes beyond a tenant's unwillingness to park a truck properly. It has become a problem that affects the whole building, so let's hope the HOA will finally enforce the rules and put an end to the situation.

      CuriousMindedAA Take pictures and email the HOA every single day this schmuck does this. Nothing will change until he gets towed or fined, daily. He doesn't care, so he needs to learn by hitting his wallet. Inconsiderate neighbors sk.

      SPSS23 OP Oh I definitely will, especially now since I am getting 4 hours of sleep every night because of their car sounding like a lawnmower at 3 am in the morning when they are backing in.

      Background_Map_8577 That is a big a truck wow. Best thing for you is if management gets upset enough where they call the towing company to come and remove it the next time he's in the garage blocking the drive path or other spots

      ballskindrapes Honestly, just keep blowing up the HOA. Tell them to enforce the rules they made. Discretely leave a note for all to see that if they are tired of inconsiderate Parkers, email the HOA until it changes.
