    Job candidate calls out interviewer for ghosting them 3 times, then reposting the job: 'Thank you for wasting my time.'

    This job candidate has come to terms with not getting the gig, but they've decided to go down swinging!

    You know what, maybe we need more callouts if we ever want the hiring economy to work again. 

    Even if you're not currently looking for a job, just ask your friends who are job searching how that's going. 

    They'll probably do a deep sigh, then tell you about how they make 4 different resumes and submit them depending on the job type.

     How they did 5 rounds of interviews, then got told the team was actually going to hire internally instead.

    How they got an offer, but it was way lower than they were expecting, and they felt pressured to take the gig anyway, knowing just how intense the market is right now.

    • Now, of course you know that the job market is hard if you're the candidate. But do the hiring managers, recruiters, and decision-makers of the world realize this? Do they think they can just get away with these impolite practices forever? 

      Like, every time they have 3 or 4 rounds of interviews, they're indirectly telling all the workers who didn't get hired, that their time isn't respected. 

      This worker decided for themself that it's time for a change, and I think you'll applaud their efforts too!

    • I reached out to you 3 times after my second interview asking for updates and never received a response. I also just saw the job was posted again 7 days ago on ziprecruiter. I think it's a pretty poor representation of the company to ignore applicants and repost the job.

      C PM This wasn't a delayed response. This was a total lack of response, which continued until today when I sent you a sharp email about the total lack of professionalism. You responded to that in 15 minutes, when prior you couldn't even manage a response AT ALL for weeks at a time. Frankly it's inexcusable,

    • and laughable that you called it a "delayed response". The response to my eagerness for the job was nonexistent. Hopefully you communicate better with future applicants, because this was horrible.

    • What do we think? Was this out of line? Would you ever do this? Is this the future of hiring? 

      After all, if hiring managers fear that their companies will get called out, they might change their behavior. Because this person was kind enough to do this over email. It could've been far more escalated! They could've CC'd every email they could find for that company. Or they could go to social media, make a firey TikTok callout, and perhaps the media will pick up on it. 

      I hope that this person knows that they're sparking change, even on the smallest scale. This hiring manager was probably startled to get these emails. No doubt they roped in HR and their bosses to discuss what to do. It's not much, but it's a great start!
