If you're thinking: Wait, what happened on May 2nd in the Harry Potter universe to justify dedicating that day to the magical franchise? Well, we wondered the same thing for a second there, until we remembered that May 2nd was the day The Battle of Hogwarts was won in 1998, and the day Harry Potter finally beat Lord Voldemort for good.
As far as we're concerned, that is definitely a cause for celebration.
We know that most Harry Potter fans usually celebrate their love for this magical world on days like July 31st, which is Harry's birthday, or even on September 1st, the day that we all dreamed of boarding the Hogwarts Express instead of going to our boring Muggle school. But there is no actual reason why we shouldn't join the official, international celebration of Harry Potter Day and commemorate the day the wizarding community finally got rid of evil Lord Voldemort.
So how should we celebrate that day?
Well, if you're by any chance anywhere near London, you could visit the Harry Potter studios and walk around the iconic set. You can also see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child on the West End or on Broadway, or you can visit Harry Potter World at Universal Studios. Or, if you're anything like us, and you are looking for a simpler celebration, you can put on your favorite Harry Potter films, make yourself some homemade Butterbeer, and celebrate with friends who also have a love for this magical series.
Either way, we're here with you every step of the way. And if you're on the lookout for a small way to kickstart your celebrations, make sure to scroll down and enjoy this lovely collection of Harry Potter memes, which are sure to bring a smile to any wizard or witch out there who might be missing their wand or broom. After you're done, make sure to leave a comment below and tell us how you feel about Harry Potter day, and how you're planning to celebrate.
