So let me be clear: memes aren't our only hope. What I meant by that, is finding a way to keep our brains and hearts strong is important and that is easily achieved through therapy and memes. So combine the two, and you have a very handy tool to keep your head above water during these dark sea times. That's a saying, right? I don't know. But what I do know is I need a good laugh. Do you need a good laugh? Heck, it doesn't even have to be that good. Just one that maybe makes me smirk and roll my eyes. Or a meme that reminds me of my bestie and I can send it to them to be like, “Hey, look! I love you and was thinking about you. Let's laugh together.” Doesn't that sound nice?

If you have read everything I've written so far, good for you, man. You're a real one. You might also be thinking, “dang, this girl needs a therapist.” Well, jokes on you, I already have one and have had one for over half a decade. Therapy isn't about healing; it is about acquiring the mental tools to handle life. Demons? Nah, that's my inner army trying to protect based on unhealthy patterns of mine. Do I need to constantly retrain them because they keep protecting me in a way I don't need anymore, like getting jealous (I've been cheated on a bunch so jealousy is the alarm my body has created for me when I start to feel insecure about someone's attachment to me) or making myself smaller when I should be trying harder to get my point across (my mom yelled at me when I had big emotions as a kid)? Yes. Yes, I do. But I still appreciate them!
Just like I appreciate these memes! Heyyyy, see what I did there? Brought it back to the memes. Thank you for coming to my comedy routine. I'll be here all week! And probably the rest of my life, because I am just another cog in this capitalist hamster wheel we call our society.
