    Single woman uses "pretty friend's" pictures for her dating profile, then invites her altar ego as "girl support" for her next date

    We understand that it's hard out there in the dating world, but this single lady was not thinking things through.

    On one level, it's sad to think that someone would feel the need to use her so-called "pretty friend's" pictures and pass them off as her own when crafting her online dating profile. At the same time, however, the sympathy ends quickly when you think about the fact that this woman is using her friend's photos without permission while actively misleading folks online into thinking she is someone that she most certainly is not.

    What's more, this lady then has the audacity to mislead a single guy on Bumble for weeks and then finally set up a first date, only to invite her best friend to join her for support. Yes, this is the same best friend whose pictures she has been using for her profile. What did this woman think would happen?

    • They started to get confused and annoyed. I pulled out bumble and showed the girl I thought I was on a date with and she. was shocked to see herself as the profile but with her friend's name.

    • It wasn't until this girl was visibly p d off did it click in the catfisher's brain that this may have been a bad idea.

    • Let this story serve as yet another indicator that some crazy people online really do not think about the consequences of their actions. It's possible that this woman invited her friend to join her, thinking that the guy she was catfishing would somehow be put at ease by being in the friend's presence. Never mind the fact that he was still being catfished!

      Naturally, things did not go according to plan for Single Lady, but hats off to the guy who was catfished. Not only did he sort of take it in stride (well, as calmly as one could in this situation), but he also had the chutzpah to ask the best friend out. Hey, that's who he thought he was chatting with all this time!

    • I just fiddled with the paper straw like a fidget spinner, staying mute. I eventually excused myself to the bathroom quietly and hung out there a little bit, taking my time, reading a couple articles, taking a pp cause why not.

Like did she think you just wouldn't bring it up...casually talk to both of them and never indicate which one you had been talking to...then actually realize you liked her better and then just talk to her more and forget about the other girl who you thought were meeting...and everything would just smoothly go from there??? My friend doesn't outright catfish ppl. But her photos were so edited, the guys she met would be visibly confused and then not intere

    • CycadelicSparkles I had a guy greatly exaggerate his height once. He said he was 5'10. My dad is 5'10 so when I met up with him I was scanning for a guy about my dad's height and walked right past the guy's 5'6/5'7 self. I've dated guys shorter than that so it would not have been a problem. It just made the situation unnecessarily awkward. So yeah, I agree. Be honest. Nobody is going to be impressed if they show up and you've clearly exaggerated or lied.

    • Asmodeus_Satanas A couple times I've showed up and their pictures were altered heavily (large weight discrepancy). But never a completely different person lol. That makes zero sense at all.
