    Neighbor cuts down homeowner's oak tree because of one overgrown branch, damaging homeowner's property in the process: 'If you kept your tree in check, this wouldn't have happened'

    Does this neighbor realize that the upcoming property damage fines he's going to have to pay might make his mission to cut down that oak tree not worth it?

    Many of us have had gripes with our neighbors at some point. It's inevitable that when you're living close to someone for a long period of time, you're bound to have some complaints about how they conduct themselves. Most of the time, these complaints are not worth stirring up a fuss. Perhaps you think their grass needs to be trimmed or their dog is annoying, but the average decent human being isn't going to do much about it.

    Of course, there are exceptions to this rule, and this homeowner's next-door neighbor seemed to feel that the one overgrown branch from the homeowner's oak tree that was crossing the property line was reason enough to get a contractor involved. However, the entitled neighbor would likely come to regret this decision when the process of cutting down this branch caused some unforeseen property damage.

      I have this massive old oak tree in my backyard. It is been there since before I bought the house and yeah, maybe one small branch hangs over the fence line by like a few inches.

    • It is an invoice for $400 for the " professional tree service." He tells me that since it is my tree , I am responsible for the maintenance and I owe him for the rental of the lift.

    • This man was so unnerved by that one hanging tree branch that he not only went ahead and initiated the process of getting it cut down without discussing the matter with the homeowner first, but he was also planning on making the homeowner foot the $400 bill. After his contractor damaged the homeowner's fence, the neighbor even tried to double down and insist that the homeowner still pay that $400. What he's vastly underestimating is that the cost to repair the fence will likely be greater than $400. 

      On top of that, now the neighbor has made an enemy out of the homeowner. Any time he needs a favor or makes a mistake that goes against the HOA rules and regulations, the homeowner is going to be ready to turn him down or get him fined.     • He just went inside and now he is ignoring my texts. I am honestly losing my mind with this guy.
