There was something different about that time. Everything felt new, not polished, not optimized, just… exciting. The internet wasn’t a place to live in, it was a place to visit. Transparent shells, bright colors, weird shapes that didn’t always make sense but felt right anyway. Every gadget looked like it had a personality, like it was trying to impress you a little. You’d pass a device around, flip it open for someone, let them scroll, press buttons, try it out. There was a kind of shared excitement around tech that felt almost social, like everyone was collectively figuring things out together. Even the “flaws” were part of the charm.
