Son uninvites mom from his high school graduation after she plans a Florida trip with her boyfriend and his kids during his graduation party

Why would she plan a trip during his graduation party?

Graduation party season can be chaotic, especially if you attend a large high school. I remember weekends during the last couple of weeks of my junior and senior years where I was jet setting around my hometown to three or four parties a day! You can get a full breakfast, lunch, and dinner out of graduation parties if you play your cards right and get enough invites!

The hardest part of graduation parties is the scheduling, because you don't want to plan your party on the same day or at the same time as someone else's in your friend group! A lot of graduation parties don't happen the weekend of graduation for this reason. Many graduates have their parties the weekends leading up to or preceding graduation, because so many people plan their parties the weekend after graduation. One of the downsides to planning your graduation party before your graduation weekend is that family from out of town probably won't be in town the weekend of the graduation party. You sometimes have to choose between your friends and your family for your graduation party, and that's not an easy decision for teenagers to make.

The young man in this story planned his graduation party a month after he graduated, but he didn't think that would mean that his own mother couldn't attend. When he found out that she planned a vacation with her boyfriend and her boyfriend's kids the weekend of his graduation party, he was understandably enraged.
