At the same time, plenty of people continue to appreciate the help that their parents are willing to give them until well into adulthood. The job of a mom or dad is never truly over, after all. This can be especially important when a child is just beginning to deal with the realities of being a grown-up, and may need a little extra support here and there. They are in a transition period that can be very intimidating, and many of the people they have around them are not going to be as helpful as family.

The ways in which a parent can support their child through young adulthood are varied and often depend on what skills or resources they have available to them. Maybe they can give them a place to stay while they look for a job, or help them out financially if they are feeling generous. The gift of time and knowledge can also be invaluable in the right context.
This is what one dad felt when his daughter complained of issues with her car. Her boyfriend claimed that he was going to fix it, but after enough time passed with no action, the dad wanted to step in. The vehicle was brought back to normal working order, but his daughter's partner wasn't happy. He had wanted to do the repairs himself.
