    Mom lends son $60, sends debt collector to his house when he pays her back a day late: 'I've loaned my mom money for years'

    The role of a parent is supposed to be selfless, but some turn out to be anything but. In fact, they start to feel like their kids owe them something after they have raised them for however many years.

    While it may be true that there are adult children out there who use their parents in a way that is entitled and unacceptable, the same can be said of certain parents towards their kids. Some people have the kind of personality where they see procreation as another opportunity to sponge off of somebody. It might not be pleasant, but it is not an uncommon phenomenon that certain individuals have the displeasure of dealing with.

    • One man felt shaken recently when he borrowed $60 from his mom, and was then a little late paying it back due to being sick. She sent a debt collector to his door to take back her money, despite the fact that he had loaned her cash multiple times over the years and not been paid back.

      He thought that this drastic action was a deliberate attempt to make sure that he behaved in the way that she wanted. He was not totally sure how to proceed from here on in.

    • There is an argument for escalating a situation if somebody, even a close family member, continually tries to take advantage of your finances. However, it can be a massive overreaction to take things too seriously over a one-time misunderstanding. It definitely shows the most negative side of the relationship dynamic. It's no way to treat a so-called loved one.
