  • Manager coming back after 1 day of "retirement"

Hi all, I guess I just want to know if I feel right in my emotions right now.
  • Because I'm p ed off. My manager has been planning her retirement for a while. She's in her thirties but wants to study more, be with her kids and her husband has a good job.
  • A month a ago she said she was officially quitting, and as the team had a collective work trip planned, we made sure it was special.

  • We also pooled a bunch of money personally to get her a gift and a send off picnic.
  • The higher ups have hmmed and hawed over her replacement due to optics for a few weeks.

  • Fair, I suppose, if not a huge middle finger to this coworker who has a stellar reputation with everyone, including clients.
  • At 5pm today we got an emergency meeting saying that boss will be back tomorrow. More details to come.

  • So this after saying there's going to be a shake up, expect new things, be your best self, etc.
