Somewhere between the inspiration photo and the final frosting swirl, things can go very, very wrong. The elegant princess cake turns into something that looks mildly haunted, the adorable cartoon character ends up staring into your soul, and the delicate piping work becomes a chaotic frosting situation that no one can quite explain. Technically, it's still cake, which is already a win, but it definitely wasn't what anyone had in mind.
