Because of their dual-lunch system, some of the employees agreed to eat later in the day, to avoid a traffic jam in the break room. However, since everyone was notified of their celebratory muffin party, all of the employees were eager for their lunch break that day. Only, many of them were left severely disappointed, and not because HR skimped on the delicacies.

Imagine the entire team of 30 people gathered around the CCTV footage in the security booth. Fuming with disappointment and likely hangry from their subpar lunches, their celebratory lunch turned into a meeting of the vindictive minds in the presence of the security cams. There's no hiding dastardly deeds in the workplace, especially when you plan to heist 48 muffins into your car before anyone else sees you.

In any other office, this would lead to an eventual firing. Theft is theft, even when it's a collection of goodies. HR should recognize this outlandish behavior for what it is, disregarding their employee's potential predisposition for muffins and looking at the bigger picture. They bought almost 50 muffins for a team of 30+ employees, but only one employee got to benefit from it.
That's not good office politicking if you ask me.
Many of the employees are calling for retribution for Muffingate, but HR may have its hands tied. Here's hoping the next muffin party doesn't get ruined by a baked goods bandit once more, and if it does, perhaps she'll have the decency to be more lowkey about it.

Alas, when it comes to a really good muffin, I understand the mania and the excitement. However, taking away that fun, delicious, moist experience from your coworkers isn't just selfish, it's heartless. Especially because the muffins were meant to celebrate a group achievement, stealing that moment just for yourself says a lot about your character.
