His previous owner lamented the difficulties of caring for a cat who lived in a cage, but any real cat lover sees how this is a problem. Cats are not like birds or hamsters; you can't keep these regal, beautiful beasts cooped up in cages all day. Felines need to be free and unbound, cherished and cuddled, not thrown in a cold, dark cage with nothing but a water bottle and a kibble bowl.
"Not on my watch!" said the couple who spotted the post online. They couldn't sit idly by knowing that a beloved feline friend was living this way. Regardless of his unknown demeanor and without a second thought, the couple did the right thing, reached out to the owner, and petitioned him for a trade offer. They would give this cat the life he deserved, and the owner would be free of the "burden" of pet ownership.
Not everyone is meant to be a pet owner, but this loving couple knew just how to solve that.

Pudgy surprised them. Expecting him to be withdrawn or scared, they steeled themselves to experience a one-way love fest with their new senior cat, but against all odds, this neglected cat turned out to be the sweetest, most affectionate kitty. Born to be a cuddle machine and a steak enthusiast, this cat became fully actualized in his second life, getting a new lease on what it means to be a cat but also what it feelsl ike to be loved and cherished by a pair of cat lovers.
This is the magnum opus for a cat, being adopted by a pair of human partners. Receiving love from all angles, cats adopted by humans can experience the full spectrum of wholesomeness that every feline deserves, and not only will Pudgy be forever remembered as his best self, but he will also always have the fond memories of his final 14 months overshadowing the 18 years stuck in a cage.
