In this story, a man realized that he had been shortchanged for $250 in his paycheck. He had to argue with the payroll department to get this money back, as they tried to argue that the mix-up had been his fault.
While he was eventually paid what he was owed, his manager decided to talk with him about the issue. He claimed that the whole thing had not been worth the effort, and that we would be paid even less if it were legally possible.
This led the employee to immediately hand in his notice and leave his job at the end of the day. He had no regrets about his decision.
