My neighbor's daughter just told me I need to park in my driveway again

Everyone living that urban life knows the pain of circling the block for 30 minutes trying to find a spot to park. Watching for brake lights, or a turn signal to flash like a beacon of hope for your doomed schedule. You were supposed to be at work or at that appointment 15 minutes ago, but you can't very well just abandon your car in the middle of the street… right?
But even out in the suburbs, parking is fierce and territorial. Neighbors marking out "their" spots on the road in front of their houses with cones or blocking them in other such ways, even though the street is public property, or coming racing out of their homes to straight-up accost you simply because you deigned to park in front of their domicile.
It all gets a bit silly, really. But without a doubt, each of us over 25 has found ourselves peering through the street-facing windows doing our best Mrs. Kravitz impression as we crane our necks to see just who is daring to park in front of our house… we've never seen that car before.
