You know it is their frenetic nature that makes these moments of stillness so powerful and sweet. Life is all about the contrasts, the tears that make the laughs so sweet, the darkness of night that makes the sunrise so alluring. And as any pawrent will tell you, having sweet, calm and quiet moments like this is utter bliss compared to the unmitigated chaos that cat children are engaged in most of the time. So the point is to enjoy the calm while you can, and to appreciate that it is part of a delicate balance, one which demands chaos to operate.

When you take a moment to truly analyse why it is that having a cat be calm with you and spend close contact, loving time together, you notice that they are deeply mistrustful creatures. It is not that they do not like us pawrents, or appreciate what we do for them, but for them to fully trust in us, or anyone else it takes a lot. So to even be able to observe such sweet moments where cats show just how much they trust the hoomans they are with is simply sublime. We wish such a life achievement upon all of you.
