Animal sanctuary separates 200 lb. jaguar from best friend Jack Russel and out of fear for doggo's safety, but after the two stopped eating, they had to be reunited
We always say that animals (and cats, purrticularly) are the best fuel for pawsitivity and hope, and we mean it. There are lots of things you can do to make you feel better nowadays, but fur us, their will never be something more wholesome and inspiring than cute animal videos or funny cat memes. They're so unserious, unpretentious, and remind us that good things do happen in the world. One of the purrrest examples of this is unique animal friendships. Animals that might never have been introduced in the wild find friendship in captivity, and form the most heartwarming relationships. We've seen cats befriending otters before, and dogs adopting kittens, but we've never seen a 200 lb. jaguar becoming best friends with a 15 lb. Jack Russell Terrier.

Lion-hearted kitten walks straight up to elderly man while stopping for gas on a chilly night and convinces him to adopt her with just a smile
You're never too old to get a new pet. When our grandfather was all alone, we convinced him to adopt a kitten, and he was suddenly reinvigorated with a newfound sense of life. For sure, it's a lot of work, but it brings a youthful, playful energy back into our lives that somehow makes us feel younger again. We're not saying that the elderly should go out and adopt four golden retriever puppies, but a kitten or one puppy might just give them something to want to live for when it's easy to give up.

Woman loses cat in divorce settlement, the cat runs away because "he's not getting on with the new girlfriend's dog", the ex-wife finds the cat curled up and sleeping in the back of her car
Adopting a cat together could be an amazing experience with the right person. Cats are like babies, essentially. It's a little living being to take care of together, a way to simulate what building a family together would look like, someone to make decisions for together, to love together… We've been there, we've done that, it's amazing. But with the wrong person… it'll just lead to problems.

Stray tomcat brings cat lover a tiny calico kitten on the brink for them to save and nurse back to health, eventually joining their fur family with a cat and a canine sibling
The Cat Distribution System usually delivers cats on their own, but when one weak kitten couldn't manage the journey the CDS sent a tomcat to help bring this kitten to the only hooman who could save it. And save it she did. In fact this whole ordeal seemed to come so naturally, so calmly to this surprised pawrent that it is all the more curious. Most of us cat lovers would lose our minds if ever we were to cross paths with a kitten on the brink. But this brave and concerned cat lover took immediate action and in doing so managed to get this kitten the help that it needed in the nick of time.

Family rescues a tiny orphaned "kitten" wandering alone, only to discover that he's actually a rare fishing cat, on the brink of extinction, and that he's needed for the survival of his species
Rescuing a kitten of an endangered species is important not just for the individual cat but for the entire species. Of course, the family who rescued this tiny stray cat did not know what they were rescuing at the time. All they saw was an itty bitty kitten wandering alone, without a momma and without help, and decided that they had to intervene before something bad happened to it. Good people. And they should be given credit for what they did. The fact that they rescued a wild cat does not make what they did bad, but rather very good. It didn't make sense for the momma to not be around her newborn, so there had to have been a reason she was gone, a reason the kitten was unprotected. And considering the fact that the baby was barely a couple hours old, wandering around, protection is precisely what he needed.

14 lbs Sphynx cat who couldn’t clean herself and was dumped at city shelter gets adopted, beginning her weight loss journey to lose half her body weight, new pawrent says
It is truly astonishing the amount of people who are unfit to be feline pawrents. So many so-called cat lovers are all too willing to give up on their cat children the moment that they become an inconvenience. Totally ignoring the fact that they are meant to be a part of life, and just like when grandma starts spurting slurs due to being senile, you keep on loving, keep on supporting, and keep on seeing the good, no matter what.
