New homeowner confronts party-throwing neighbors next door: 'It’s not a once-in-a-while party. It’s basically every weekend!'

This is like if the movie Neighbors happened in real life.

Imagine finally getting to the finish line and buying your first home after a long, arduous search. Yes, we know that for many of us, the concept of buying any home in and of itself feels profoundly out of reach. Still, stay with me here. Picture this: you finally find a nice little home on a seemingly quiet suburban street. 

The cost of the home is within your price range. The repairs do not appear to be very extensive. Even the adjacent houses looked nice enough from the ten minutes you were able to assess the neighborhood. Then, you finally get to your move-in date. The renovations have gone smoothly, and everything seems to be in perfect, pristine shape. Everything, that is, except for the non-stop partying that was occurring all weekend right after you moved in.

Nobody said anything about noise issues when you were first looking at the house, but of course, why would they? After the weekend finally ended, you might have assumed that it was just a one-time thing. Maybe it was a special occasion that just happened to occur during your first quiet weekend in the new house.

Then, the next weekend happens, and you realize… oh wait, it wasn't a special occasion. It turns out that the people next door just live like this, and they have no plans of quieting down any time soon. This is what happened to this author shortly after moving into his new home. We hope that he's able to muster the courage of Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne from Neighbors. Otherwise, he may never find common ground with his new neighbors.
