Warehouse employee shows up to work in formalwear to spite his condescending boss, Gary: 'Honestly kinda feeling myself'

Arrogant bosses are usually the most likely to micromanage their workforce, especially when it comes to dress code. Convinced that they're the smartest, most intelligent, and the most capable worker in the company, their conceited energy trickles down into the lower tiers of the business, seeping into all levels of offices, mailrooms, and even warehouses. Labor guys know exactly what this kind of boss looks like. Oftentimes, he dresses like he spent 2 hours primming and pressing his suit all morning, attaching whatever shiny bobbles and doodads to his coats and shirts to make him seem more important. While dressing nicely has a direct effect on a person's ego, when the bosses come traipsing around in the dusty, loud warehouses of shipping and receiving sectors downstairs, they revel in their superiority over the highlighter-vested, work-boot-wearing workmen.

It's about time the labor force reminds the shiny-shoed bosses that they are not only outnumbered, but more likely to be outsmarted by the men they're accustomed to underestimating. Down in the basement levels, if you're not lifting a box or hauling pallets, your opinion doesn't matter much, unless, of course, you're wearing the foreman's whistle around your neck. 

A warehouse man recently reminded his double-breasted boss to leave their department alone by maliciously complying with a haughtily condescending demand. When the boss made his way down to their level, he was feeling a sense of superiority that couldn't be quelled by anyone's logic. So with a prim and proper demeanor, he berated the men downstairs, telling them that they should take more pride in their appearance, dealing out backhanded compliments to the men with sweat on their brow and dirt under their fingernails. As if this man's starched shirts ever saw an ounce of precipitation in his life…

There was a snarky labor man in the mix, however, and he knew exactly how to remind the suits upstairs how silly they are. He decided to show up to work in his finest formalwear, threatening to outshine even the shiniest of suits up in the C-level suite and pointing out the practicality of labor-man's standard garb. It only took a few hours before customers were calling him the boss, which of course, made the real boss suddenly insecure. And guess who rescinded their dress code demands immediately afterwards?
