    Entitled 23-year-old throws tantrum after losing job to his 28-year-old sister: 'I put in an application first, I should be first'

    Siblings are meant to be there for one another in times of need, but that does not mean they are obligated to give up their jobs for each other!

    This woman's 23-year-old brother seems like the kind of petulant man-child Sabrina Carpenter has been singing about over the past year. Not only was he unqualified for the cashier position he applied for in his local area, but he also showed his true colors when he learned that his older sister, who was 28-years-old and had far more professional experience in customer-facing roles, had gotten an interview there.

    Of course, this kind of sibling rivalry is inevitable when you're both applying for the same job, but the brother's take on the whole situation says more about his immaturity and his narrow understanding of how the world works than anything else. He felt that since he applied for the position first, he deserved an interview first. 

    The author of this story, who was the unfortunate middle child in the family, attempted to explain to the man-child that this isn't how interviewing works. They likely passed on his application due to his lack of experience. She also tried explaining this, to no avail. Instead, the brother chose to interpret what happened as a result of gender bias against him. Oh brother (literally)!

    • After both sisters tried to reason with their brother, they likely hoped that their parents would confirm that while his feelings of frustration were valid, his older sister rightfully earned that interview. Instead, their father somehow decided to side with the brother. 

      The dad even went so far as to suggest that his daughter give up the opportunity for her brother, or at the very least, ask if there are positions open for him. Obviously, the 28-year-old knew better than to do that. Here's hoping this family gets past this drama and that the sisters never have to apply for the same job as their brother again. What a mess!
