Mom retires after advocating for higher salary for 18 years, replacement quits after one shift, ex-boss now offers double the salary for her to return: 'If a company doesn't give you what you deserve, believe me, you'll find another one that will'

The contributions of this working mom to her former company may not have been felt while she was still working there, but they were certainly felt when she was gone. 

At that point, of course, the damage was already done. No amount of money was going to convince this now retired lady to come back to the company that neglected her for nearly two decades.

For some content, this lady worked at a government agency for over 18 years. During the course of her time at the agency, she advocated for a raise during each annual review. She felt that further compensation was more than justified. After all, she had taken on far more tasks and responsibilities than her core duties written in her job description. According to many of her coworkers, she essentially ran her entire department. Despite the fact that she had the responsibility equal to that of upper management, her actual title and compensation package failed to match the amount of work she was actually doing on a day-to-day basis. 

Each year during her annual review, she presented more and more evidence proving why she deserved a raise, and each year, that raise was unfortunately denied. Most folks would quit within a few years, but she stuck it out much longer than most people in her position would. However, after 18 years of this nonsense, the lady could no longer handle the rejection. This time, she decided to retire, but it did not take long before her former employer would regret their decision-making.
