You can plan your entire life out and follow that plan accordingly, and you'll still be disappointed by the result because you can't control every aspect. You can do everything you possibly can correctly, and those whom you let into your life will uproot everything you've built for yourself. This applies to romantic relationships, friendships, and family relationships. Nobody is safe from the chopping block, though, if they decide to do you wrong. It's up to you to make the final call and reject the notion that people can treat you however they want. That's only true if you let it be so.

How do you cope with your family taking the side of someone who has hurt you so badly? Your mother and father might look at the situation at hand and fail to empathize because they were fond of a certain somebody who caused you pain. Their cognitive dissonance has to dissipate eventually, right? They must be able to see the light sooner or later, especially after something as catastrophic and traumatizing as your spouse lying to you about how you're the father of the children that you've been raising.
