    Entitled neighbor disapproves of resident's snow shoveling after winter storm, engaging in ongoing bitter feud: 'This guy goes out and re-shovels everything I did the night before!'

    This neighbor was so invasive and critical that he made a whole fuss over another resident's snow shoveling.

    Whatever happened to minding your own business? Part of being a good neighbor means knowing when you are being called upon to help someone out and knowing when it's best to let people be. Unfortunately, in every neighborhood, there is always that winy curmudgeon who cannot help but take issue with virtually everything.

    For the record, it's not that this resident was shirking his responsibilities. During the snowstorm, he opted to wait until the worst of the storm had passed before taking out his shovel and clearing a proper path. When he finally did that, he was fully compliant with HOA guidelines. Still, his methods apparently were not up to his neighbor's standards.

    The neighbor obsessively began shoveling snow as soon as the storm began. This, of course, was bizarre to everyone else living nearby. What was the purpose of constantly clearing a path throughout the day when the storm was ongoing, and it was only going to get worse? Clearly, this curmudgeon just wanted to stir up trouble because he felt like no one was pulling their weight to maintain the optics of the neighborhood. The truth of the matter, however, was that no one was shirking their respective responsibilities. Everyone else simply wanted to wait until the storm was finished to begin their work.

    • When the author woke up the next morning after he did his duty, only to find that the curmudgeon redid all of his work, he was understandably frustrated. It's one thing to be criticized for not doing your part. It's another thing to also be criticized for not doing your part to the satisfaction of one individual. 

      As we mentioned before, the curmudgeon wasn't even an HOA board member, and the author was fully complying with those rules and regulations. Clearly, this entitled neighbor was one of those disgruntled individuals who could never be satisfied.
