When a feline funny floats your way, you must accept it. If you don't, you might be stuck in a 40-day dark night.
Okay, cat peeps. We've been bearing the cold for what seems like furever, and still, we see no end in sight for the frigid days we've been experiencing. With every passing moment, we are experiencing a few more seconds of daylight. Woohoo! The hermit in me is weeping a little, but the hooman in me is ecs-cat-ic. Why? Well, vitamin D makes us all feel a little bit better, and with all of our early evenings in, we haven't been catching a tan the way we'd all like to be because of the cold weather. Cat owners are accustomed to the homebody life, so it's safe to say that most of us have been glued to our couches and our cats, glued to our laps that are glued to our couches.
If you're feeling sick of the early evenings, we're right there with you. How many times can we binge-watch the same three shows before we start to become hissterical with madness? Our cats have adjusted to homebody life well, pawbably because most of them are indoor-only. Even still, we should all strive to be as content as they are with the eat, sleep, litterbox, repeat cycle. It seems like they're pretty darn pleased with themselves. I would be, too, if I were a cat who benefited from my hooman's hard work.
After all is said and done, we must tend to the light. The sunshine is slowly but surely sauntering back into our lives, and it's only a matter of time before we're loading up our electric bills and praying for a cloudy day. The grass is always greener, but is the sun always brighter? Hmm…
As I watch my tuxedo cat gracefully (overstatement) bask in the little sliver of sunlight shining through my kitchen window, I have to wonder if everything will feel even better once spring comes along, and the snow melts for the last time this winter season. Until then, I'll be looking at cat memes to bring my frown upside down. Why don't you join me?
