Cat lovers occasionally see echoes of a cat's former outdoor self, like when they're biting ankles, hunting houseflies, or awakening the neighborhood at 2am with kitten zoomies, but there's nothing more pure and perfect than a cat enjoying the home in which they belong. Cats have their favorite nap spot, their pre-warmed cardboard boxes, and the human companions that make life simple and lovely. If only we could be more like them. Cats have it all together, apparently.
The next time you're scraping ice off your windshield and catch a glimpse of your cat inside the living room window, know this: They are 100% judging you and pity your cold human fingers.
Cats know that humans have no choice but to go outside and live human lives, so it's their duty and obligation to enjoy and protect the home in our absence. However, kittens are smart enough not to envy the world beyond the windows, as it's chilly, blizzarding and expecting a record-breaking snowstorm. As they curl up on the down blankets and preen their pristine fur, cats reminisce on their wilder former life, but appreciate their plush little existence as the hooman's favorite feline to come home to after a long day of work. Life is great as a house cat, especially when the wintry world outside is unforgiving. For a cat has no need or desire to exit the comfort of the house; it's nice here.
