Gas station employee gets petty pay back on impolite customer: 'Don't mess with customer service reps, because one day you'll regret it'

A customer got exactly what was coming to him, according to a gas station worker who was totally fed up with his entitlement. 

There's a certain type of customer who believes themself to be king, and every worker around them is their personal servant. They expect workers to bend the knee, to oblige their every ridiculous request. This haughty, entitled demeanor does not appeal to the actual workers, who are still going to be making minimum wage whether they give 100% or just 10% effort that day. They're not interested in doing any extra work… which is something a customer like this guy could never understand. 

This employee was disgruntled from seeing the customer repeatedly litter right in front of them, then demanded that they pick up the trash. Why? Because it's their job, of course. It's just incredibly impolite! You can tell that he's never worked a service position once in his sorry life, otherwise he'd understand how degrading and unkind that is to do to someone. Not to mention that if you did that outside, to a stranger, you'd face some consequences. Just imagine! And yet if you do the same thing to a retail worker — dropping trash at their feet with a laugh — they aren't allowed to flip out. If they want to keep their job, they've unfortunately also got to keep their composure. 

Just anecdotally, I've seen littering come back into fashion again, and it's startling every time I've seen it. I watched a woman drop a candy wrapper right in front of me onto an otherwise spotless road, and my flabbers were ghasted! My instinct was to pick up the wrapper, but I didn't want to give her the satisfaction of seeing someone else do her dirty work for her. We already improved this problem in decades past (didn't we all have to watch PSA videos about this in school?). Let's all stop with the littering before it gets out of hand again, mmkay? 

Anyway, back to the story, this gas station worker did get to see another very satisfying thing happen to the world's worst customer. There are few things more embarrassing than your card declining in front of the cashier, even more so when there's a line of customers waiting impatiently behind you. You either have to try another card or step out of line. You can pick either option, but everyone else in line is still going to be wondering if you're broke or not.
