Truly, if aliens ever come down to earth, they are going to think that we are so ridiculous and goofy. Because this might be said as a joke, and yes, it is funny, but if their spaceship were to land inside our home, this is exactly what they would see. They would watch us do anything and everything that our cats want, catering to their every whim, no matter how many of our things they break. We are whipped for them. We worship them. And as funny and strange as it is, it also makes us really, really happy.

It is the principle of the matter. They don't actually want to leave the house. They're just curious, and they know that there is one door in the house that is considered forbidden, and therefore, they simply must go through it. In fact, every time that our cats manages to sneak into the hallway, she looks back at us like she is as confused and concerned as we are. This is no place for her. There is nothing there, and is so much yummy food at home. Why did we let her out there? That's what she's thinking.
