When you think of the typical cat, you probably envision fluffy fur, beady eyes, and floofy toe beans.

This might be true for most cats, but not all. There are certain feline breeds that take the form of what one might consider an "anti-cat" of sorts. They don't shed because they have little to no fur, they have grumpy, wrinkly faces, and a hairless, round body akin to a raw chicken or turkey. The most common hairless cat breed, the Sphynx, grew in popularity on the internet because of their unapproachable face and raw meat-like features. They're the perfect shade of light pink; you'd think you might get salmonella if you inch too close to them without gloves on.

Did you know that Sphynx cat owners have to massage their cats' skin with oil quite liberally? Their skin cannot afford the dryness, and their licking habits might negatively affect their bodies because saliva tends to lack moisture. This is equivalent to licking your lips because you ran out of Chapstick, but that action actually only hurts you more. You get the picture.

I've pet a Sphynx cat once, and I cannot begin to describe what it felt like. Think of a baby's head, just less fragile. Their chill demeanor, paired with their rather unconventional appearance, makes for a wonderful feline companion, even if the internet turns your cat into a meme.
