Cat lovers reunited with their lost cat on a bike ride after a year of searching for their escaped kitty: 'Our family became whole again'

This cat not only survived the wilderness, but after a year, still recognized their humans' voices as they called for him to come home. 

Sometimes cat lovers wonder if their feline loves them back. Although we naturally wish for our cats to have the same affinity for us as we do them, when they knock our plants over and bite our ankles at night, it's tough to tell if they truly love us. But as every cat owner can attest, in our moments of greatest doubt, cats will do the cutest thing imaginable that reassures us that they cherish their life in our human home, cuddling in our laps, purring like a tea kettle, and baking biscuits on our tummies. 

Life is good when your cat loves you back. 

But if your cat escaped and ran off into the wilderness, do you think they would still recognize you? This couple was shocked when they learned that their lost cat not only still recognized their voices, but loved them enough to come racing back into their arms. After a year of searching for their lost feline, they had all but given up. Living so close to the woods, it was unlikely that a meager house cat could survive all alone. However, their resilient feline was not only well equipped for the wild, but eager to return home with their humans back to their soft bed.
