The fact that you let this cat this close to your food and then also took the time to stop and take a picture… either means you are very brave or this is a very well-behaved cat. If our fluffball got anywhere near this close to our food, the food as well as every single living thing around it would be in immediate danger. There would be a battle right on our living room coffee table, and there would be a 50/50 chance that we would end up losing it.

No dig to dog owners. We love dogs too. But this is indeed one of the best things about owning cats. And it is especially true in the winter. In the summer, when it's hot out, our cats are much less likely to come and do this with us. They're warm enough in their coats anyway. But during the winter, when it gets cold, when they start looking for extra bits of heat anywhere that they can, when we become one of their favorite pillows and blankets… that is, by far, the best time of year. And staying in bed for a couple more minutes to cuddle with them is completely and utterly worth being late to work.
