Listen… if you're someone who has had cats for a long time, then you know that in some ways, they really are like children. Every once in a while, they will come to you and scream at you for no reason whatsoever. None at all. Full of food, petted for an hour, played with and everything else that they might need, and they still come to scream at you. And when they act like children, you have no option but to treat them like children, and that includes telling them things like, “go find something to do, please, I'm begging you”. It happens.

This tweet has gone viral because of a very simple reason. Every single cat owner in the universe can relate to this. The number of things that we have stopped keeping on the counters because of our cats is countless. Bread, cookies, tortillas… our cats like carbs, if that wasn't obvious. Keeping a pot of food like this on the stove is not even an option that crosses our minds. That thing would be in imminent danger from the second that the lid came off, and that is a risk that we are not willing to take. For our sake and theirs both.
