A grandmother, a father, and a daughter all live in the same house together. If you had to guess which one of them is not paying for anything around the house, who would you choose?
One might think that the grandmother is not paying for anything, since she might already be retired or too old to work. Since she is the one who raised her son and probably helped raise her granddaughter, it makes sense that the two of them would allow her to rest, while ensuring she has everything in her old age.
Sadly, the 66-year-old grandmother is still working, still supporting the family, and still paying for bills and food.
The second choice would probably be the daughter. She might be too young to have a job, or maybe she's still in school and is living with her father and grandmother to save some money.
But no, daughter is actually a 27-year-old nail technician working full-time.
This leaves us with the father. Apparently, Dad moved into the grandmother's house four years ago, along with his partner, and settled in the garage. For the entire time, they lived there rent-free, while grandmother and daughter paid for every single expense. For some reason, they have put up with him for four years, but lately things have started to change–electricity has gone up a lot, and grandmother might be let go from her job. Things are not looking up for this household.
These changes led the grandmother to start pushing her son to start pulling his weight, maybe pay for a thing or two around the house. Unfortunately, her pleas were ignored. Eventually, the daughter stepped up and gave her father notice to move out by the end of February. No longer do they intend to fund his lifestyle. Safe to say, Dad was not happy to hear he has to leave his free living arrangement, but his daughter refuses to budge.
