Then comes the institutional cowardice, because no modern workplace wants to address a small, annoying behavior directly. IT sends polite guides. HR calls it engaged. Management hopes the problem will depart of old age. So the rest of the company does what companies do best, passive aggression with a side of arts and crafts. Mock chains, bingo cards, and group coping mechanisms that exist only because nobody will have the one conversation that would take two minutes.

The real issue is not one coworker’s inbox habits. It’s the way organizations treat low-level disruption like weather. Just wait it out, carry an umbrella, pretend it’s normal. The inbox fills, productivity drops, and everyone quietly learns that the loudest people get the most space.
