Like the light of the crystal vial, capture the light of Eärendil's star and blast away the darkness of the real world. If it's enough to scare away the likes of Shelob or any of Sauron's other dark servants, it's enough to shine the way for a LOTR fan. Tolkien's wisdom shines in the books, and it shines in real life. All we have to do is grab life by the pint glass like Merry and Pippin in the Prancing Pony, trusting that some hooded ranger from the north will save us from the incoming Ring Wraiths.
Unlike the disappointed Nazgûl, who spent their lives chasing after power and dark evils, you won't end up in the wrong hotel room, slashing feather down pillows instead of tracking a group of young hobbits. With Tolkien, we have the words of Gandalf to guide us even in the dark, saying, "All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given us." With that, spend your next stint of free time brushing up on your LOTR quotes and facts, scrolling memes that shine blue like Sting when the orcs are around.

Don't lie, this totally scared you as a kid! I know it terrified me, but because I begged my mom to let me go see the LOTR movies in theaters, I had to pretend that I was completely unfazed by a Ring-crazed Bilbo. Did I learn a lesson here? My mom would say that I should have listened to her, but if I had, I wouldn't be a part of a much larger LOTR fandom understanding, would I?
