How to know if you're a colleague's favorite coworker? They share haughty memes with you on the clock, and you don't feel like they will tattle on you for it. Your favorite coworker probably makes you feel like you're Bonnie and they're Clyde, the two of you against the corporate world. The only difference (well, maybe not only) is that you probably aren't robbing anyone, or worse. Either way, you know how it feels to share some weird trauma bond with someone likely 20 years your senior, and embrace that bond wholeheartedly. What else are you going to do in your 9-5? Actually work?
Regardless of your position on actually working during the workday, you're probably privy to the trials and tribulations of coming to terms with cubicle-rotting for hours on end each day. The relationships we form in the office make or break the way we enjoy our time being corporate soldiers. How often do you leave the office thinking about the work you did that day, versus the people you spoke to and the connections you created? Disregard that question if you're an introvert, because we all know you're eavesdropping on conversations and not participating in them. Perhaps you watched other colleagues from connections. Better that than none at all, am I right?
How do you define a cubicle comrade? Do you only speak to them off the clock? Do you invite them for drinks after a particularly strenuous day at the office? Do you only ever laugh with them in groups of three or more? Whatever your understanding is, you probably couldn't imagine your work environment without them. A coworker bestie is a must, regardless of your introversion or extroversion, and we have the memes to prove it. Could you imagine how barren your workplace would be without the one coworker you exchange knowing glances with when the COO makes a cheesy comment about how you all are "family"? We're sure you could imagine it, but you most definitely don't want to. Corporate is as barren as it gets sometimes, and the only way to remedy that is through fun connections with other human corporate soldiers. Scroll below to share your favorites with them.
