When living in a home that isn't yours, one expense that should not be your responsibility is anything to do with renovations. This was the basis of a predicament that one woman found herself in after moving in with her boyfriend.
The house that they lived in was a fixer-upper that he had bought with the hopes of eventually selling or renting it. As they were in the middle of renovating, the building only had the most basic of amenities that they had to work with.
Although she was already paying half of the mortgage and bills, her boyfriend got upset at her, as he felt she wasn't contributing enough to the ongoing renovations. He specified that he thought she should be helping to pay for them, which she disagreed with. She wanted to know if she was the unreasonable one.
