It's winter; it's post-holiday feelings of drab aesthetics, dark skies by 4 pm, everyone getting sick as a dog (or cat), and back to work. The weather doesn't help with the fact that we were just afforded so many holidays off, and suddenly, abruptly have to go back to the arduous grind of 9-5 work. Whether that work is an office, a bank, a restaurant, manual labor, or work from home, it's still work.

The story below features a brewer who's on his way home from work when he's met with the luck and fortune of the cat distribution system. He's chosen, just when he was going to the local farms to donate spent grain in the brewery dump truck, as he does every week. 

He finds an adorable lost kitten along the way, probably no more than 6 weeks old, just tripping around ditches on the side of the road. This kind brewer knew just what to do. He took that little kitten, afraid of its health in the cold winter months and being so alone, and he took him home. He and his wife named him Fig (Figgy for a nickname).
