  • I (28M) live in a small apartment complex, been here a while. I work night shifts at a hospital so my schedule is all over the place. I'm usually sleeping during the day and at work at night.

  • My landlord texts me saying theres been noise complaints about late night parties from my unit. I was confused as hell cause I literally live alone with my cat
  • and the most exciting thing I do is watch Netflix with subtitles on. I asked who complained and he said the lady in 3B (directly above me).
  • I went up to talk to her and explain theres some mistake. She opens the door and immediately goes "oh YOU'RE the party guy." I tried telling her I work nights and

  • am barely home in the evenings but she cuts me off saying she hears music and people talking until 2-3am multiple times a week.
  • Turns out the unit next to HERS (3C) is the one actually having people over but because the sound travels weird in this old building she assumed it was coming from below her. I even

  • CassandraApollo A neighbor complained about me doing carpenter work in my appt, same time every night. It was the plumbing pipes banging when I showered. He never apologized.
  • Dlodancer Every time she gave you a dirty look, "Don't give me dirty looks because you were wrong" laugh and walk away!

  • BeautifulArtichoke37 People like her never apologize.
  • TemptMeDeeper Honestly, this sounds like a case of someone deciding on a narrative and refusing to let it go, even when presented with facts. You living alone, working nights, and still being labeled the "party guy" is wild. You did everything right by escalating it properly. Her lack of apology and attitude afterward would push anyone closer to moving out.
  • sunshine_fuu Holy Testicle Tuesday, your landlord actually told you who complained??? I'm glad you're leaving soon because that assholes sounds like they'd feed you to the wolves for a roll of toilet paper, as a smaller woman their actions scare the hell out of me.
