Every member of the workforce longs for the day they can speak out against their toxic boss and free themselves from the shackles of a less-than-desirable work environment. You've probably borne witness to several legendary resignations in films or television shows, wherein a lowly employee finally decides to stand up for themselves, and everybody claps, blah blah blah…

Quitting stories aren't always so inherently grandiose, but a few definitely have their moments. Upper management tends to rely on the desperation of the employees below them, so they can treat them any (awful) way they see fit. This only makes quitting even more pleasurable and satisfying. Imagine: You've spent years at the same standstill job, working away your prime years, and instead, prioritizing Excel spreadsheets so your boss doesn't threaten you with PIP. It's a rough world out there in the job market, and unfortunately, too many employees know all too well what it's like to work under a raging narcissist.

However, everyone has their day in the court of quitting. You might not have yours just yet, but it's on the horizon; we can see it now. A higher-up will always reap what they sow; it all simply depends on how soon the justice is dished out. Employees expect verbal critique in the workplace, because how do they expect to excel in their position if they believe they're always right?
There is a fine line between a manager handing out criticism and shouting unnecessary obscenities at their employees because they can. If, somehow, human resources fails to step in when upper management comes in provocatively loose-lipped and ready to break some spirits, the next line of defense is teaching them a good old lesson.
