Happy holidays and howlidays because it is time to LOL at memes and celebrate our precious woof-tastic gifts under the trees: Our dogs.

Were you ever the kid who asked for a puppy from Santa? Oh man, I used to beg for a puppy every year. "Please Santa, I kept my flower from wilting all day, I'm responsible! I haven't broken any of my toys since I got them, see how responsible I am?" I have been crazy about canine companions since birth. Unfortunately, every Christmas would come and go and none of my gifts would bark. I was still a happy girl, don't get me wrong! But man, did I want a dog. We finally got one when my dad's friend got a dog but his daughter turned out to be allergic. It wasn't Christmas, in fact it was spring, but boy did that day feel like Christmas morning. I will never forget!

Now, I am a grown woman and have had a pup of my own and fostered many. I guess I never grew out of that phase… Still, every Christmas I have this feeling in my heart where I am still hopping to see a tail wagging under that tree. Is it too late to write to Santa? Am I too old? Maybe one day… Until then, I've got the fur babies by my side and these howlarious doggo memes to keep a smile on my face.
